Porsche 911 1980

How to make a Porsche 911 1980 to wide body?

is there any site that shows how much it does cost…..?

Answers so far have hit the basics of what you are asking, but I’ll expand a little.

If you are looking just to add the body work, then you would aquire the 930 front and rear flares and have them installed (which would involve cutting off the existing Carrera flares that are already on the 1980 911SC, welding the new flares… or otherwise adding if they are not steel as the factory used… and then repainting). You would also need some additional fittings relating to the front and rear valance/bumpers. You would then need either wheel spacers or wider wheels with the appropriate offsets. Optionally you might want a 930 whale tail as most Porsche wide bodies had this installed.

Cost for this would be ~$700-1000 for the fender flares, ~$200-500 for additional related parts, ~$1500-2500 for installation, ~$1500-15000 for paint work (depending on scope of work and desired quality), ~$200-3000 for spacers/wheels (spacers representing the low end with a basic set of 7″ and 9″ Fuchs coming in at the high), and an optional $1000-1500 for the tail (for part and finishing and install). This all works out to a low of ~$4100, though a more reasonable guess would probably be closer to about $7000 (and that’d be with using spacers and without an added tail).

However if you wanted to go the “full” route: while the factory did not produce a standard option for a widebody on the 911SC, they did provide a template when they offered the Turbo Look option on the Carrera a few years later. This would include all of the above (including the wider wheels and the tail), as well as the 930 brakes ($3000-4000) and a slightly beefier suspension ($4000-6000).

If you look at the costs involved, you should quickly conclude that the cheapest route, and the one that will help the car retain it’s value, and get you the most in return: sell your 1980 911SC and purchase a 3.2L Carrera Turbo Look.
